Disaster Planning
Disasters can happen anywhere and anytime. Developing a strategy for responding to a disaster can minimize the impacts felt.
K-State Research and Extension has an on-going project called "Prepare Kansas". There are a series of challenges that help individuals and families take steps to prepare their home or workplace ahead of a disaster. Each September a new set of challenges are developed. Last year, the emphasis was on financial preparation. This year the focus is on weather related disasters, including extreme temperatures, tornadoes/high winds, droughts, floods and fires.
